Moffat Resources holds two significant tenements within the highly fertile Eastern Succession of the Mount Isa Inlier; a globally significant Tier 1 metal province, close to the regional town of Cloncurry. Both Projects, Dingading and Glen Idol, are just twenty kilometres north from the Cannington silver-lead-zince mine and 25km south-west of the Maronan lead-zinc-copper-gold deposit.
Dingading EPM 27957
The Dingading Project is located 20km north of the Cannington Mine and 110km south-southeast of Cloncurry. The project contains several copper-gold and lead-zinc targets, coincident with major regional structures and within the Soldiers Gap Group; the same geological unit that is host to the Cannington Silver-Lead Mine. The tenement is covered by shallow cover, representing a compelling opportunity to make a significant discovery.
A selection of previously reported significant drill results include:
28m @ 0.78g/t Au from 78m (D105A Target);
4m @ 0.45% Cu from 26m (Dylans Target);
10m @ 0.21% Pb from 36m (Zone S Target); and
10m @ 950ppm Zn from 72m (Central Area).
Glen Idol EPM 27958
The Glen Idol Project is located immediately east of the Cloncurry Fault zone, and contains extensive copper, gold, lead, and zinc anomalism, defined by stream sediment, soil, and rock-chip sampling. Focus for previous exploration was the Willys Bore Target, a copper-gold-lead-zinc zone of anomalism, with previously reported drilling results including:
24m @ 928ppm Cu from 78m;
12m @ 0.15% Cu from surface;
4m @ 0.29g/t Au from 20m; and
6m @ 740ppm Pb from 0m.
The most extensive zone of surface copper-gold-cobalt anomalism is B37, which is yet to be drill tested. Anomalism is open to the north, west, and south, and requires immediate exploration follow-up.
